Brown Agency is a full-service modeling agency in Austin, Texas, formed in 2015 after previously being under the name of Wilhelmina Austin. It is now one of Austin’s biggest modeling agencies, as well as a major modeling agency in the United States in general – agents from Brown Agency have modeled for major companies such as Dell, Toyota, Louis Vuitton, L’Oréal and thousands of other companies. They have also modeled at many fashion weeks, such as Austin Fashion Week, Dallas Fashion Week, Miami Swim Week and New York Fashion Week. 20 percent of the Brown Agency is for modeling, whereas 15 percent is for commercial jobs and 10 percent is for union jobs.
Brown Agency is headed by Justin Brown. Prior to his position at Brown Modeling Agency, Brown was a junior agent at Rage Model Management, an owner at Texas Acting and Modeling Company, the owner at Wilhelmina Austin and the co-owner of Mobile Talent, an app centered in Austin, Texas. Wilhelmina Austin was re-launched as the Brown Agency when it acquired Heyman Talent-South, another one of the area’s largest talent organizations. With the combination of the skill sets of both groups, Brown Agency became the only full-service modeling agency in Austin, and one of only a few in Texas. The founder of Heyman Talent-South, Michael B. Bonnée, is now the head of the Brown Agency’s Theatrical Division.
In addition to a theatrical division and a fashion division, Brown Modeling Agency also has commercial and creative divisions. The commercial division hires men, women and children, and the creative division hosts make-up artists and photographers. Brown Agency focuses on finding the best and most beautiful talent in Central Texas, and President Justin Brown says that they are only as good as their talent. For more details visit Crunchbase.
What puts Brown Agency above other modeling agencies is the skills and time they devote to helping their clients develop. Brown himself was a model in college, so he knows how much guidance models need in order to succeed. He was involved in several different modeling firms, and through that involvement, learned the tricks of the trade and what was necessary to help models achieve their full potential. By age 21, he had placed between 20 and 30 percent of the talent in Southern California – a wonderfully surprising number for someone who was so young. Justin Brown settled on Austin, Texas for his main modeling niche because it was a big city, but not so big that he couldn’t make his mark by training models for great opportunities. Following the combination with Heyman Talent-South, Justin Brown has been able to push his dreams of growing the modeling industry in Austin further and has helped local talent end up on the national stage.
